kljcreative > A pretty crude early trial just a white background.
kljcreative > Version three of my outdoor studio - or pseudo studio. The modifications I made this version were to include both a black and white backdrop and improve the overhead diffuser. This allows me to easily shoot the same model on both backgrounds. This location was not so ideal as I prefer to have bare earth in front as it reflects a nice warm light back onto the subjects.

kljcreative > A selection of before and after shots on both black and white backdrops. The top two images are the RAW files from the camera. The bottom two I have edited first with Lightroom and then Photoshop. On the white image I did not have to touch the background as it was a nice clean white. With the black (as I typically do now,) I have darkened the background to take it to 100% black. I have also balanced the colour on both images concentrating on getting a nice skin tone. Asian skin certainly looks more vibrant against black. Thanks K. Jiab for being our model.

kljcreative > Conversations with Jost, a German traveller (shooting with me here,) lead to version two of the pseudo studio which was much more sturdy. I replaced the fibre glass upright poles with stainless steal ones, altered the over head diffuser and lengthened the backdrop to bring it right down to the ground.
